are you sure all these moves are forced? they don't look like that to me. plus, black can delay the mate with 1...Ne5.

Sacrificing the 3 pieces are to delay the mate by threataning g4.

6...Kg5 was to avoid 7.Rg3#

1.Bc3+! Ne5?? 2.Bxg5+ Kxf5 3.g4#!

then black should have played h6 on the 9th move. after the checks are over, black makes bad moves. i think sunshiny's solution is correct

6. Re4+  Kf3

7. Re1 and mate in 1 with either Rf4 or R1e3.
