Being a beginner chess player, I quite often come on to the puzzles section here to hopefully learn about the forward thinking aspect of chess. Well today all that effort has started to pay off for me as I executed a 5 move checkmate, and I thought that it would be good to give back a little something to the section that inspired the victory. As far as I saw the moves my opponent made were the best he could have made, but I may well be wrong. It may seem quite an obvious sequence to most of you, but it took me a while to work it out! This one is probably for the newer amongst us Smile

Nicely done - economical, efficient - you should be proud of finishing your game off this way!

Yea nicely solved.  White didn't play the best moves to avoid the mate but even the best moves only delayed the inevitable longer as he would have lost his Queen and Bishop delaying your attack.  A stronger player might have resigned earlier.  Well done! Cool
