Yes, remove any pawn yo wish to make it eight pawns.

Then solve the problem.

I see two answers.

  • Remove the d-pawn for Qe4#
  • Remove the f2 pawn for Bxe3#

I don't think it's supposed to work that way is it?

  • Remove the b-pawn for Nc6#
  • Remove the g-pawn for Ne6#
  • Remove the f-pawn for Qb2#
  • Remove the h-pawn for Rh4#
  • Remove the a-pawn for Qb6#
  • Remove the e-pawn for Bxf2#
  • Remove the g-pawn for Rg4#
