    If you say it is a mate in three, then no matter what the opponent moves, you shoud be able to mate in three.

    Also, in your first puzzle, Rxf6 mates in 3 too

    My chess teacher handed out these slips with these puzzles on them. I thought they were good, so I shared with all.

    Hum....

    1. It is actually mate in three, but not the way you made it, since black can play Re8 before Rd8, but white can play Rd8# right away instead of this useless knight move.

    2. I really, really doubt that this actually happened to you in a real chess game, as this position don't look like one coming from a real game because there are no pawns, the king's position is quite strange and the last move from black would have been very weird.

    3. I don't know what you learn to school, because you spell reaaally bad.
