Hm. I'm pretty sure this is a legit puzzle :). I'd have to plug it in an engine to be sure, but very nice . I think the "forget the knight" comment might be unnecessary though. You're up by like 15pts of material, who cares ?

In fact, in that game, white should have resigned on the 10th move.

I added a few pawns to prevent spite checks. Engine analysis confirms the solution.

Lol, I plugged in the position to confirm, but forgot the board was flipped so it said the correct move was to play the h7 pawn to h8=Q# (from your diagram's point of view). I thought this was funny. Maybe not but w/e

Next time, just copy the FEN notation for the position. Also, note the numbers on the board. :)
