Pretty simple, it has to be a rook move. All you have to do is find the right square

It isn't important where would be placed Rg6; not just only c6

It must be c6 because that is the only square that frees the black rook from the bishop pin.

The usual sides. If the bottom rank were actually the 8th rank, then white could advance and promote his d7 pawn without check.
