Really good puzzle. I've being looking at Tal's, Life and games book. It's the first time I've gone through a players games before. Like this puzzle, I missed alot, however, I do think it is making me a bit stronger.

What strikes me is the coordination of the peices. When the whole stall has been set out correctly it looks like he has many options to damage his opponents-and he does.

When I finish Tal's book I fancy getting Alekhine's best games. I often hear people say that certain players play certain styles, but as a beginner this is often hard to identify. I'm hoping that by reading players books, i'll be able to get a feel for different styles.

Maybe at the end of it, it would be possible to post 5 puzzles/winning combinations from five different players, and ask people if they can tell who is who by their style.

 Anyway, good post, cheers min.

The opponent I would most hate to play EVER would be Tal, he was just sooo ferocious. Once he had initiative in a game it was like okay lets go to hell.

Instead of 28.Qh7+, faster by one move is 28.Bh7+ Kxg7 29.Qg6+ Kh7 (or Kf8) 30.Qg8#
