Very nice. I got upset on the last move though, because I was trying to mate with Qh8#. I was all pissed off and indignant 'till I realized...."Oh,Qg7".

Thanks to both of you (alwayslearning and woodencardboard). If you liked it....check-out my other puzzle, titled find the mate... it's a bit better, unlike this post... reply for black depends on the players thinking. but the other one involves a forced  4 moves mate. A continuity leading to a no choice mate.Cool

woodencardboard, do not despair.... Qh8# is a mating move.

if you made that move... you we're also correct.

but specifically this was from previous game so i can only input moves that was actually made during the game. "find the moves I used to mate" it says beside the board.

Yes I loved it. tinkering with the board while waiting gives me something to do trying to find out opponents possible moves and combination. Thanks for sharing the information.... I was really hoping for it, only to find out it was right there within my reach...lol

Yes, I am pleased. It is satisfying when an opponent falls into my simple traps and get mated in the process. Sometimes theres no need to capture major/minor pieces just to gain material gains... if there is a way to simplify, go for it... even if it takes to sacrifies some valued pieces. I've always like to find simple ways than getting into complicated positions that could lead to several blunders.

yes I agree....but if you don't know you fell into a trap would you offer your Queen for free?Cool

By instinct no one will give away a Queen for free, unless by  total mistake.... do you agree?

Nice second move.  2... Rf6 might've held, if only the R on b8 wasn't hanging.
