I liked those. It serves as a reason to never give up to early even in a game with a material disadvantage. Though in the first example, white can promote his pawn by moving up one. Whether that was deliberate on your part, It does allow the pawn promotion.

If white promoted his pawn blacks bishop would capture the rook, by checking the king (thus forcing him to capture the rook) white is able to capture blacks rook.
