I got this from a chess magizene it is very hard...

Nothing too difficult, it seems.

Why 8. Rf3 though? I played Rf1. Did I lose the win? It seems like f1 is just as good of a square. In general, you try to keep maximum checking distance. Unless of course the f3 square had an advantage over f1.

That might be true. I'll check the magazine for the answer.

Yeah the knight move is nice makes the rook move it can't the pawn without the subsequent fork.

It is from a chess magizene can't you read! I did not play it and it had 1 mistake by black that made the puzzle possible....  you Idoit.

Giovanni was looking at the wrong diagram, that was posted by rain.  The real problem is very good.
