This is from a game that just finished today.  I do not post this to rub it in to my opponent, who was very gracious, but because I think it makes for a neat tactical problem.  Please tell me what you think:

Awesome, I've been trying but I can't find any promising reply for white after Qxd3.

I wonder how some people can calculate so deeply.

What happens after 18. Re3? Haven't analysed carefully but seems to me White can still hold.

^ 18. Re3 Rxe4 if white takes the queen ...Re1# otherwise ...Qg2#

Thank you for the feedback!  As for the calculation...it was a correspondence game, so I had some time to explore ideas once I thought of the mate threat.  It took a bit to see the Nf6+ attempt and to see a way to still get a mate.

Nice, I didnt see quickly the pawn on f6. Very nice tactic. What was the time ratio?

Mizerak

3 days/move was the time control for this game.
