This is from a game between Santa Luis and Strikovic Aleksa 1988. It was a game in an opening line I was studying in the Kings Indian Defense. See if you can spot it.

Nice combo. I though 1...Bh3 with the idea Bxg2 and ...h3 crashing through (this light-square bishop once again !), but maybe it doesn't work. Undecided

I first tried to go straight for 1... Be3 2. Bxe3 Qxe3+, but I guess the knight bait is necessary to force white's bishop to capture black's - if white doesn't capture, the line goes nowhere. So in effect, 1... dxc5 2. bxc5 Nxc5 "only" wins a pawn if white doesn't take the bait, but it might just be enough anyway. Or is there something else I'm not seeing?

It's funny how in some master games when someone drops a piece, the opponent just takes it. You'd think that there's always something behind the sacrifice at that level...

Well, I have the book BOBBY FISCHER TEACHES CHESS and it appears that it is too easy. I do not think that anyone can become his level through this book alone!! Personally, I think Chessmaster 10th Edition takes you further than Bobby does. That is just me....

Ya if white doesnt take the bait black just wins a pawn I think, and maybe stops whites queenside attack. Still its not easy to find so I dont blame white.
