Sudden Death
Send me a HINT before I check for the answer is it mate in 1, or 2 or you mean by (on the move ) mate in 1.If its mate in 1 then this puzzle is crazy one, Due to the fact the Ng3 is loose and causing me lots of troubles. If mate in 2 then the enpassant pawn move 1. Pf8 check --Qh8xf8 and then Qe5 checkmate.please send me your reply before I go for the answer its really a nice puzzle going for this alternative move this variation.
Is the board rotated 90 degrees clockwise? (So that the white queen is on h1 rather than a1) I believe this is the case because the square colors are wrong. If this is the case then, d8=N#.
Great chester6, I know there is an answer botton but I like to try alone , and I agree with you that the left squire of the board a1 start always with black one ,an I agree with you that the white queen is in h1 then d7 to be promotted to knight will be captured by the black rook Rg8 xNd8 and Nf7 is the mate which mate in 2 not in 1 right? Its a tricky but for me mate in 2
I revise once again ,Okay I agree mate in 1 the king is already under attack nice puzzle ,thank you very much rayyan its a sudden death really the title is amazing.
Pretty much I can assure you AND I like both the tricky part and the title ,you believe it or not !, it click in my mind that I have to check the board but I didn't do it !!! many time I confused my self regarding the first left squire (a1) is black or white ? But this puzzle has cleared this for ever left squire of white start with black, now stick in my mind .
“Paul Morphy IV” submitted this puzzle to the Journal of Recreational Mathematics in 1974. White might capture Black’s queen at this point, but instead can choose to mate on the move. How?
