Cogwheel
This is a very difficult puzzle, but there are many solutions. It took me about 10 minutes to solve at first; since then I have found many solutions.
The goal of the 8 Queens puzzle is to place 8 queens on the board so that no queen can capture another.
There are probably hundreds of solutions, but try to find 3, and post them here.
Good luck.

There are probably hundreds of solutions
the wikipedia article says 92, or 12 if rotations/reflections are ignored.

This was the first solution I was taught for this puzzle--I haven't forgotten it since. Of course, whenever you find one solution, there's always the mirror that works as well. So that's not where the 12 comes from. 12 unique solutions, not counting those mirrors and rotations.

valymer you didn't cheat the rules specifically said, "The goal of the 8 Queens puzzle is to place 8 queens on the board so that no queen can capture another." no rule about extra pieces
