As usual: no hints, no solution and no tricks.
Do try to solve yourself: no research and no engines, please.
White to play and mate in eight.

EDIT: I failed this originally (hung a piece), then when editing it I lost my train of thought. Finally, I got it back, though.
PS: I love the Zugzwang in this puzzle
adude23,
nice try but you're one move over the eight.
Wow, OK. I think I have it now. Correct me if I'm wrong
Correct solution, well done.
A trophy wings its way towards you.
Thanks! Now if only I can figure these out in real games...

that doesnt work, after 3....gxf2+ there is no imminent mate, except stalemate
I thought that these could be helpmates! And you must mean: 3... g2+, but after 4. Kd2 g1=N+ 5. Kf1! and 6. Qe8 mate to follow
Do you mean "after 2. .... gxf2+"?
True, that could be it, but I'm pretty sure these are supposed to be helpmates, like the first (clever) one. Hey, when's number 3?
It says mate in eight...
I know but the faster the better! I was just throwing that out there anyway!
This one wasn't a helpmate.
Number three? you chumps aren't ready for number three.

I'm totally ready to press "solution" on number three.
