Puzzle has an alternate solution 1. Qd4+! the king has no moves and black must interpose either bishop or queen to d5.  Then... Ne4#.

Took me a bit to find it.  Too many distractions with the rooks and queens all gunning at each other.  Good puzzle, thx :)
