On my computer, at least. This is a 4-move combination that lets white get back into the game. Are you smarter than Rybka?

I made this puzzle myself.

Edit: Puzzle has been updated.

took me less than a minute, but black is three pieces and a pawn up for the queen. I not sure who is better here.

It's not a game; it's just a random puzzle I made for fun. I'll change it to a knight, though.

Nice puzzle but the set up essentially broadcasts the moves that need to be made.  I agree that it lets white get back into the game but I think with careful play it will still be won by black (not that I'd like to be black though and if so it probably wouldn't be me doing the mating!).

On the computer side, my Palm Hiarcs took a fair amount of time (which is proably not a fair comparison anyway) and had to seach 12 moves deep before it found the proper line.  That seemed a bit strange.  The freebie Fritz 5.32 found the correct first move in less than a minute but needed almost another two minutes to fill out the line.  So I guess Rybka is pretty fast.

I use Deep Junior and wanted to see what he would play. It took 3 seconds to play Nh6+

On my average machine it took Crafty 10 seconds to find the first move and 5 more to publish the continuation above.
