Another good one... only one valid solution.

Thanks it is kind of hard to make these because I'm only 11.

No, not tricky at all. What purpose does the queen play in your puzzle? It appears to be superfluous.

The queen is not necessary to the solution. The puzzle is not a challenge for experienced players. However, for beginners, the queen is a distractor which is an extra choice just as an incorrect answer in a multiple choice question is.

Ray_Brooks> No, not tricky at all.

When I see this puzzle I instantly see checkmate--taking the queen never enters my mind. But there are less experienced players out there trying to learn the game and I'm sure this is a challenge for at least some of them.

Halloween, perhaps a note in the title indicating the intended audience of your problems would be appropriate. Eg, "for players <= 1200" or somesuch.

It was not my intention to demean the composer. I always address the forum topic, if serious, in a head on manner. The initial post took the form of a question, and got the answer I thought it deserved. Innocent

I thought you had to be a certain age so I put it higher.

"I thought you had to be a certain age so I put it higher."

You only need to older, if you are smoking or drinking alcohol whilst you play! Laughing
