How do you get more people to view your posts once they have rolled off the most recent posts list?

Remember that even though the posts aren't in the overall most recent post list, they're still in the ordered (most recent) list for the particular forum they were entered under, and a lot of people will still see them there.  If the posts go long enough without a new response that they roll onto the second page for the forum, then the most likely place people will see the topic from scratch is on your profile page under your recent activity box.

Some people bump their own threads to get them back into the current list, but that's generally frowned upon, though there might be some topics for which it's appropriate (like an early announcement involving an upcoming event date, you might bump the topic as the date approached).
