White is clearly better, what is the plan?

    1. Rc7

Rc7 does the trick, and it's hardly a plan. It is important to know when it's time for a plan and when it's time to just go for the kill...

    Cool, what's the plan after Rc7 Rc5?

LOL Rc7 would just lose for white, back rank etc. Depends on how you want to play it, exchange queens, bring the king to the centre and get a passer on the queenside looks simplest. Maybe Rc5 after the queen exchange to prevent e5, then move the king to the centre etc

Yes, that's the point I'm trying to make. Sometimes the obvious 'Winning move' is about the worst one.

I spotted ...Rc5 pretty quick as a response to Rc7. Knew Roop had something in mind...

    GAHH!!!  CURSE YOU ROOP!

no, but serious, nice one.  I imagine the correct answer is trade queens, then push pawns.

This is included in Lev Alburt's Chess Training Pocket book. It is a very instructive position. It illustrates how tricky and difficult chess really is and how wrong some instinctive and natural moves really are. It also shows that it is well worth it to keep fighting and setting traps in "lost" positions.

I would resist Rc7 here by instinct. Anything other than swapping the queens shouldn't be on the table in this sort of situation. Make the endgame as easy as possible.
