    Hi all,

Not sure if this has been done before on here but here are a couple of puzzles I've put together.

The object is to do it all in you head and hopefully it will go some way to improving your visualisation skills.

    Here is a Example:

You will see something like the following written,

    White – Kb4, f6, Qg1

    Black – Kh8

White to move and mate in one.

So in your head you should have pictured something like this

So you have a King on b4 a pawn on f6 and a queen on g1 and black has a king on h8. White to move and mate in one.

The answer would be ---- Qg7#

Everyone understand? Good, lets get on with it then.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    1. Easy.

    White – Kg2, Qa4, e6

    Black – Kd8

White to move and mate in one.

    1. Medium

    White – Kb6, Rf1, Bf6, Ng5

    Black – Ke8, f7

White to move and mate in two

    1. Hard

    White – Qb8, Rc1, Ke3, f2, g2, Ng5, h4

    Black – Rb2, Nb5, e7, f7, Kg7, g6, Bh8, h5

White to move and mate in 3

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

I have inserted a blank board to help, as the comments below suggest it might be too hard with out one.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer will be posted next week. Enjoy and please let me know what you think. Are they too difficult, too easy, too complicated, just right? and would you like to see more?

    Thank you.

I guess we aren't allowed to set the board up in real life, are we?

it would probably be considered cheating and also, then it would be just like a normal tactical puzzle. I'd try doing it in your head first, it is meant to be a little challenging.

    Thanks for taking an interest

Again, if you set up a board it would be a normal tactical puzzle. Your supposed to do it in your head. Try to visualise the board, try to visualise how the pieces move.

I've just read on another post that you wanted more difficult puzzles. Well, here you go.
