What does 251,000 total members mean compared to the rank among 44,000 members?
44,000 preuim members
251,000 people on chess.com :)
Thanks
Rank is relative to the number of players, 44,000, who are deemed to be active.

250,000 members are all who have ever registered.

ha! if we only had 44,000 premium members... :)
does gold and silver count as preium members
i think it does ...
so when im ranked as, for example, 2500 out of 40,000... does that mean that there are 40,000 online and im the 2500 best player out of them all ??
sorry if it sound like a stupid question!
i think so and i not really sure either!
its a little confusing ... maybe they should make it a little clearer lol
The list of 44,000 players has a column "Last Online". An active player could have last played 3 months ago.
Only a few of the 44,000 are online at the same time.
