Auroras, sometimes called the northern and southern (polar) lights or aurorae (singular: aurora), are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar regions.

Protons (I think), highly charged sub atomic particles, interacting with the earth's gas atmosphere which creates photons (the lights).  I'm guessing, the only thing I really know is that its so cool.

It's a city in Colorado.

It's a city in Illinois.

It's the name of a test aircraft for the US military.

It's the name of the Roman godess of the dawn.

The version you have pictures posted of are caused by solar particles being moved along the Earth's atmosphere in a magnetic "jet stream" of sorts.

And um... Isn't it the name of a car?
