Nice win today by Russia against favorites Netherlands. And braveful win yesterday by Turkey against a more gifted Croatia. There will be more surpirses? Who is your favourite team to win the tournament? It looks like very uncertain to me.

PS: Since I play chess here everytime I watch a football match I compare the player's moves with those on the chess board. I can't help it. There are lots of similarities.

I also find similarities between football and chess.. Thought about that today when I was watching Russia/Netherlands..

As it seems now I would "put my money" on Russia winning the Euro2008..!

Why not? I think the Russian team played very well; attacking and defencing good and they are in good physical form.. I think they have a good chance to win.

About the similarities between football and playing chess, it's the moves, positions, attacking and to find openings and so forth that fascinates, "FreeCat" is quite right about that.

I don't think they have very good defenders, but even so, they have a chance, sure.
