"Lunar eclipses are visible wherever the Moon is above the horizon. This one will be best seen from most of Africa, Eastern Europe, central Asia, India and the Middle East.

From Western Europe and the United Kingdom, the Moon will rise during the eclipse."

Hmm... sounds like I live in the wrong part of the world to watch this eclipse. I wouldn't necessarily call myself an "astronomer" but I do enjoy pulling the Meade out from time to time.

Discovered this morning that my dog chewed through the cord between the scope base and the hand-held control unit. Looks like I'll be doing some wire splicing this weekend. Yell
