If possible both, but with more quality than quantity, means good friends and wise money how to get and to spend :)

Friends. Easy. Friends win every time.

At first glance, I thought the post was called "friends or monkey." I would have found that choice more difficult.

they are interchangeable.

you can have conversations with money.

and you can trade your friends in for food.

i see no difference, so i'll take either one.

Not for me.  I would rather have a monkey than friends.  Especially if the monkey would come along with me on my adventures as a truck driver.  He would be my sidekick.  I would name him Wayne.

That's a lovely ambition. I wish you (and indeed, Wayne) the best of luck. Laughing

Well said erik, I actually traded a friend of mine (+ 60 bucks) for a Wii, so that was pretty cool

I'll go with the money.  Personally I can be quite happy with just a few friends.  the money could be used to make things easier for my family and to give to charity.  I think it's not the number of friends that matters, but the quality of the friendship.  excellent question.

Why are those two the only choices?

I think most of us just want (at least) enough money to not need money.  In other words enough to live a comfortable life (without doing anything you don't want to do) with several vacations a year.  Why should money be so important?  Friends can also be annoying sometimes.

I would say both, but when you're rich, the last thing you need is new "friends". No thank you, I'll take the check please, and stick with the friends I already have.  Laughing

It's much easier to make more money once you already have a lot of it.  Making friends doesn't require any similiar prerequisite.  I therefore posit that an initial investiture of time in pecuniary pursuits will be more useful in the long run (Granted that some business contacts might assist with becoming wealthy).

Etienne-my point is that one should not need money to do whatever one wants to do.  Worried about to many lazy people?  We all ready have that, giving people what they want would not change most of these people.
