Hi LOB,

I have a Toshiba laptop and it is great no problems at all. My 4 year old son plays on it (well bashes the keys and get sticky fingers all over it...and pours aftershave in it!!) and it seems to be holding up well. I had a Zoostorm before that and that was good as well but my lad poured a pint of lemonade in it and it was then pronounced dead at the scene.

Toshiba or Sony Vaio go on the internet and get a refurb

I just want to suggest something that no one else has done yet. It is much cheaper to put together a laptop than purchasing one. The parts are much cheaper and you could get a bettet comp. w/ better specs. this way. Also jsut a heads up, many programs are not Mac compatible, so its easier to use a PC rather than a Mac, plus they are way more expensive

Parts are not as freely available here as in the US, so the sourcing of such is quite tedious and expensive.

Well I'd like to thank everyone for the help. The laptop you see above is what I went for with a bit of an upgrade..

Processor
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2 cache)

And make that a 320 GB hard drive!

I added a backlit keyboard to round myself off to 800 euros.

I will need rehab after spending that much but when this new baby arrives in a week or so I have no doubt will be a stunner :)

Cheers again to everyone!

(Do not diss the laptop now it is too late) Tongue out
