I'm sorry, Knights

This forum contains my apology towards the looked-down-upon knight, which is long overdue. It is a response to my way earlier forum "KNIGHTS ARE TOO UNDERVALUED", in which I brutally assaulted the knight with words I now regret.

I am sorry, knight. I overlooked your amazing power as a leaping agile and stupidly-hard-to-catch-in-the-endgame piece. You have saved my life on numerous occasions, and I'm sorry I spoke of you the way I did in that forum. As another medium of my apology, I present to you an original poem:

Staunton, a head of a horse

    steers opposition into discourse.

Queens and bishops run in fright,

    away from the fearful knight.

See them scream! See them run!

"Come back! My destruction is not yet done!"

The knight leaps nimbly with much grace

and lands right in front of his target's face.

"Hello, and good-bye!" he happily neighs

and with another neigh, he leaps away.

    "Checkmate to your majesty!

    Fallen is your monarchy!"

    The fallen king weeps bitterly,

    then says:

    .....

"A plague over both your houses!"

    So... are we friends?
