Correct answer is no because it actually originated from the Celtics nd Romans thousands of years ago.

Yeah I think it was originally Celtic and it all got mixed in with loads of other stuff over the years. Its a sort of Pagan Celtic Roman type thing that got christianised. When all the Irish left to America during the potato famine I think they brought it over there. Trick or treating was American though I think. I may be wrong but didn't that, at least in the UK start happening when ET came out in the 80s? Before then I don't think people used to do it in the UK. Anyhoo...
