Nope, you need to watch King Arthur film from the 70s!  His father got it from the "lady in the lake".

Yep. Arthur got it from the Lady of the lake when he smashed the sword of the stone on one of his future knights. i think that it was pellinore.Tongue out

Anyway, which father you talin' bout? Ector or the king?

No his daddy (the king) got it from the lady.   But he squandered its power and on his death he stuck it in the stone for Arthur (who was sent away for his safety to be raised by peasents) to draw later on.  Many of the newer versions of Arthur cut this bit out.

What?! Melrin got the sword and stuck it in their proclaiming 'whoever takes this sword from the stone is the true king of England'! And I got it from an official website on the internet, and most movies I're seen!

Merlin doesn't have the right of blood (the power to wield excalibur).  How could he put it in the stone?  Surely only those of the blood line have the power to put the sword in the stone and to draw it.

But when the witch character(she has many names) steals excalibur and gives it to some one else she must of held it

Yeah the son she had with Arthurs father, so Arthurs brother in law.  Her plan was to put him on the throne as a puppet.  I'm to lazy to look his stuff up for the exact details.
