Libya's freedom from the tyrant leader Gaddafi is near at hand- zero hour is here...as some leaders call it. Libyans are about to breathe freedom from 42 years of dictatorship, that began with uprisings from the fall season of 2010.
Once the dust settles and the guns have fallen silent, the bigger task for Libyans will be the construction of a democratic Libya (in some form), and reconstruct a country with unrivalled riches in their region. Of course, with different tribes must come reconciliation, negotiation, and compromise- which will be very difficult.
Libyans did not begin the Arab Revolution which is currently taking place, and probably will not be the last to rise up against monarchical rule. Three neighbouring countries with a total population of 100 million people are now free...and without the likes of Gaddafi, Mubarak and Ben Ali.
...long live the Revolution...

As you say, Libyans have an even bigger task ahead of them - to build a lasting peace. I hope they succeed.
...so Tripoli the Capital is now under "rebel" control, and news reports indicate that Gaddafi's son was captured. Meanwhile, the UN has pledged to release US$1.5 billion of frozen Libyan funds held abroad to assist in humanitarian aid, and NATO continues to assist the "rebels" with air strikes last night.
Reports of summary killings and torture continues on both sides.
The search for Gaddafi continues... "dead or alive".
...it was revealed yesterday that Gaddafi was accepted into Algeria...he was accompanied by two of his sons, his daughter, grandchildren and his second wife. One of his sons was killed in Libya.
...a number of Gaddafi's luxury homes have been seized by the rebels when Tripoli was taken over, and a vast underground network of tunnels was located beneath his premises leading to several miles away from the town, and near an airport.
...so it looks like Libya is free from it's tyrant.
...so what will happen to Gaddafi?...since the UN has a number of warrants for his arrest?...only time will tell.

Why am I fearful that what comes next for Libya will not be positive?
...it will not be easy for Libyans to reorganise their Government. Conflicting "sects", different ideologies, and every leader wanting to grab power...will make it difficult indeed. The International Oil Multinationals are already at their doorstep negotiating entry.
