As many people know Bobby Fischer has passed away he was 64 when he died. When you'r alive do you think about people that you have never seen and they died? I know you think about you'r family. Share you'r thoughts. No one lives forever on the earth and a lot of us have heard about famous people who died. You can wonder where they are they may be gone of the earth but they're not gone in you'r heart.
I understand his question - he might've phrased it better but this suffices. He's asking us whether we really reflect, sentimentally, on people that we've only heard about, rather than those whom we've personally known, assuming it goes without saying that, through our personal, present intimacy, we have more access of/ quality of remeniscence for the dead.
I suspect he had a moment, likely while looking at a picture of Mr. Fischer, wherein he existentially appreciated the idea that Bobby Fischer lived, was a real person with desires/emotions, etc. It's part of his overall appreciation of humanity as a whole, and he's broadening in that. It's easiest to intersect with our heroes, because we desire to be that much closer to people we admire.
So, to ask his question again - has there been anyone in your life who you never met in the flesh but have mourned their passing in a personal way nonetheless?
my uncle "sigh"
