Who will win the World Series? I say the Detroit Tigers take it quite easily this year.

I am V, by the way. Sucks that this is my first post, but at 4 a.m. I am not very creative...lol

I don't know that the Tigs take it "quite easily", there are some troubling reports coming out of Lakeland already regarding injuries, especially in the bully. Nonetheless, I think this year you have, Detroit and Boston neck and neck to start the year, and everyone else at least one step behind.

     GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our bullpen will be stronger this season than last, because our starters will throw deeper into games. We will strebgthen the pen around the trade deadline, and assure the title :)

I can't tell you how much I hope you are right. But Im not convinced that Zumaya will ever put a whole season together.  As for the starters, you might be right, it appears Bonderman might actually have his change up working this year, and Willis, well, he's not gonna win 20 games, but if he can survive into the 6th and 7th most of the time..... this could be fun. :-)

I just heard on ESPN's baseball podcast that Beckett is likely to miss the first start in Japan, but should be good to go after that.

detroits will be a good team, but im not too worried. trading for two big name players (from the National League) doesnt automatically make you a contender. and how good was dontrelle willis last year? im pretty sure he sucked.

He was 10-15 with a 5.17 ERA and just over 200 innings pitched. Those aren't ace numbers to be sure, but the thing is, in Detroit, he's not being counted on as the ace, he's a #3 at best and possibly a #4 starter. Anytime you get 200+ innings out of your #4 starter, things are good. Plus, not having the pressure on him like was last year, may well help him. And, with the improved defense behind him, he WILL have a better year this year than last. Count on it.

You are right, trading for two players doesnt make you a contender, but the Tigers were already there. Don't forget, they made the World Series in '06, and last year they had a really good year up until September. It's not like they are expected to go from worst to first, they are coming off a good season. They have one of the best lineups in baseball, and probably the best infield.

the only reason they were in the world series was because the yankees lineup suddenly looked lamer than christopher reeves wheeling his way through a marathon. im not trying to hate though, anybody could win the series in march. i do have to say that i think that detroit will have a better record that the yankees though. but what im really loving right now is the celtics pistons games, id give anything for them to take back the trade that sent chauncey billups to the pistons. hes a machine. danny ainges legacy as a GM (no not a grandmaster to whoever thought that) will be as a complete retard who got lucky with two allstars for sixty cents on the dollar. but what can i say, i love rivalries. best of luck for your teams to come in second to my home states.

I have this gut feeling that the N.L. teams are going to surprise some folks this season...the N.L. East is fairly strong - especially my Atlanta Braves (maybe, just maybe, our pitching rotation of Smoltz, Hudson, Hampton?, Glavine, Jurrjens will stay healthy, and we can return to the glory days of the 90's, haha)

...and as much as it kills me to say this - the Mets don't look too shabby either,  with or without Santana they would have been solid...but now, they look like a serious contender

hate to break it to you man but i think the mets woud be a contender in the AL, which puts them head and shoulders above their competition. unfortunately i cant think of any tasteless metaphor for this situation, so im stuck with blandly stating my opinion.
