Haha point taken.  I don't think it should be legalized, but if alcahol and tobacco are, then I see no reason why Marijuana isn't.  Another thing to consider, how is it fair to people who's religions if Marijuana is aprt of it?  I don't think it is.

I think there's some kind of law that allows you to use marijuana for religous purposes but I'm not completely sure so don't quote me on that (I'm too lazy to do the research=). As for whether marijuana should be legalized I don't know enough on the subject to give an educated opinion but I can tell you why alcohol is legal.

It goes back to ancient times especially in desert regions, like Egypt. In those regions as you can imagine it was fairly difficult to find a steady supply of water so instead they got most of they liquid needs from alcoholic drinks especially beer which they made from the grain they grew in abundance from the flooding of the Nile. Beer was therefore a necessity for life. As for the rest of the world I can only guess so I won't bother you with them.

Im not aware of any religions that require you smoke weed. But honestly, I think it should, there's not really a reason for it to be illegal. Its techinically safer than alcoholic, and its non addictive, unlike tobacco. I don't smoke it anymore, but I honostly think it should lealized. Isn't it legal in Canada?

Thanks fury didn't know that.  I think that if your right about laws allowing people to use Marijuana (Religious reasons) then that's the way it should be.  In Rastafarian "herb" or "gangja" (Both marijuana) are a big part of their religion.  Something along the lines of it being used for healing.

Yes.

Because it's less harmful than tobacco, alcohol, caffine and sugar and has no reason to be illegal in the first place.

A sidenote : growing hemp for food & fiber is also illegal in the US (legal in Canada & parts of Europe).  This is even more completely inane since hemp needs far less pesticide than cotton & grows faster.  It was all planned out to destroy certain industries & help others.  Prohibition of alcohol didn't work & keeping MJ illegal isn't either.  Millions of young men (and women) lose years of their lives trading this beningh (at worst, healing at best) substance.

BTW, I don't even smoke. Wink

True, if it was legal less people would be getting killed.
