Searching for Bobby Fischer

 

The Luzhin Defense

 

The Knights of the South Bronx

 

All three films really get inside of chess and provide a different perspective on our obsessive hobby. 

I like the movie, Fresh with Samuel L. Jackson 1992. Excellent movie with chess wisdom woven through the whole story. Some of the story a bit graphic however

I stumbled across Fresh one day on cable and it surprised me at how smart the movie turned out to be.  I didn't care for the language, but otherwise it was a very clever film.

I only watched : Knights of the South Bronx

 An well-known among chess players:  Searching for Bobby Fischer.

in the movie "the seventh seal" a knight plays death in a game of chess throughout the movie.  except i think the movie is more about suffering than chess, but the motif is still there
