This is a good family activity:

National Gaming Day

"The American Library Association has designated November 14 as National Gaming Day. On this day, libraries across America, and Les Bibliothèques de Montréal-Nord in Québec, will host special gaming programs and events to celebrate the popularity and educational value of video and board games...."

Seems to be a good opportunity to organize some open chess tourneys.  Smile

My calendar lacks a Novermber. Hm.

I'll check with some libraries around my area. Hopefully there is something! Chess is not popular where I am unfortunately.

That's strange, mine doesn't.  Laughing

According to the interactive map thingie, there is only one library in my area with planned activities.  Guess that'll have to be good enough.
