Us lucky ones in Europe hear of these tragic events in far off lands around the World, but its just another news story in another newspaper. unless it happens on our doorstep, we seldom react to them! we might give it some thought for a few moments while the news reels show us vivid images of what has happened but again its just another tragic story and there will be another one the next day from somewhere in this vast yet shrinking World we live in.

With climate change around the corner, I wonder if our attitudes will change too! could we in lovely quiet old England, one day in the future be in the news in some far off bar room in a foriegn land, suddenly a newsflash appears on the T.V informing the man sitting down enjoying his beer after a hard days work about a tragic event in England, what if he turned the channel over to watch the football because he found that far more interesting!  how would we feel about his reaction? I think we would feel hurt! we would feel useless and not worthy of his thoughts, we would be angry at him for ignoring our plight!

So why do we  do it to others ! I am not sitting in a bar, I am sitting at my desk at home in a far off land AND I DO CARE for my fellow human beings, I DO CARE what happens around the World, my heart goes out to you all that have been affected by this tragic event, my heart goes out to you because you did nothing to deserve this, you were born there, my heart goes out to you because so many people dont bloody care !
