Thanks for the pictures AndyClifton, yes those two " Characters " have brought a lot of laughs to a lot of people. As a smart person once said " Laughter is the Best Medicine ! "

Actually, I think this is the best medicine:

(Although in sufficient doses it will certainly lead to laughter.) Smile

Thanks for the post AndyClifton, powerful stuff from Vicks.

Recently I was thinking about some stuff for my thread on Music and that brought me back to TV, because that very lively theme for " Hawaii 5-0 " came to mind. Of course when one thinks about Detective & Police shows there is a very wide variety to choose from. The Untouchables had been mentioned before, at our house we also watched The FBI, plus: Mannix, Cannon, Columbo, Rockford Files, Police Woman, and of course Car 54 Where Are You ? lol.

    There's a hold-up in the Bronx

    Brooklyn's broken out in fights

There's a traffic jam in Harlem

That's backed up to Jackson Heights

    There's a scout troop short a child

    Kruschev's due at Idlewild

    Car 54 where are you?

How about "Adventures in Paradise," "Sea Hunt" and "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" for some good old shows? Add "I Spy" and " The Man from U.N.C.L.E."

Thanks for the recent posts, some more very nice shows there. Recently I got to thinking about a fun Canadian show that was also exported to other markets. Does anyone remember " The Beachcombers " that was filmed on the west-coast of Canada ?

Laugh In and That Was The Week That Was. Yes, I remember the britcom

Blakes7. One nice thing about the sci-fi shows, they nearly always included a sexy chick! (7of9 OMG!)

Thanks for the posts and clips, we are getting into some rare old show here. I've heard some good things about Grey's Anatomy but I've never seen it ( no Cable TV ). One funny show that I did see a couple of years back was " 3rd Rock From The Sun ", lots of laughs there.

Mickey Mouse Club! Wanted: Dead or Alive, Bat Masterson. Anybody mention the Rifleman yet? I also want to throw in some products that sponsered some of these shows which are also no longer around. How about Ipana toothpaste and 5-Day Deodorant Pads? Flavor-Straws? Also I'm looking for anyone who saw commercials for JoMar coffee (I saw them in NYC, I'm sure it was a local product) featuring hand puppets in a restaurant who would offer JoMar which would be turned down. Then they'd offer some pie or something which was accepted. They'd throw the pie in the customer's face and say, "How about some JoMar to wash it down?"

Thanks for the list SquareDealer. When you mentioned the pie in the face I was reminded of a fellow who was a bit odd but had a lot of fun: good old Soupy Sales.

In looking at SquareDealer's post, I'm reminded of another neat old Western, which had a fantastic theme song: Johnny Yuma was a Rebel...

Wow ol' Soupy Sales. Somebody told me that he told this joke on air:

"Does your wife make your apple pie?"

"No, but she sure makes my banana cream!"
