I have been laif-off from work now going on four weeks, I am about to go crazy. I have one job offer that would get me back home again to Ohio, while another job offer would keep me here in SO CA. The one in SO CA pays about $20,000.00 grand more then back home. That leads me to this question what is peace of mind worth? What is home worth?

20,000 more is quite a bit of money, man. Is SO CA really undesirable? What is in Ohio that you'd miss if you stayed, and are there any benefits to staying in CA?

Man, believe me when I say that I totally understand about not wanting to live in SoCal, I wouldnt either. I don't know who you know up in OH right now, but from everyone I've talked to up near there, you dont want any part of that rustbelt economy right now. Things are bad everywhere, things are just miserable there. Just something to consider. It would be worse to take the job out there, then get laid-off again because the economy is so bad.

Is your family in Ohio? Would it be just yourself re-locating? How long would the position be for? ie. are you looking at years in SoCal?

Baseballfan is right about you having to be concerned about the economy, from what I hear.

That is tough about the culture shock/change. I wish the choice was easier/clearer.

At the end of the day, money is just money though... I mean, if you're sure your job in Ohio is steady and stable, heck, maybe you don't need that 20,000.

20,000 though. Even if it were just saved for retirement or what have you... hmm.

Good luck, man.

Depends on the situation, the time, and most of all, your heart...

Do what you feel is needed the most.

If it's a nice cup of hot chocolate in the warmth of home, then sure...

Thanks for the advice.

The heart and what I feel is needed the most, if that is so then I should listen to my head and not my heart...............boy life sucks at times
