What do you think is the best Pink Floyd LP?You can write some comments about the group if you want.

Saucerfull of Secrets for me.Just the best ever group.By the period 1965 to 1979 they played everything:Rock, psychedelia, progressive rock, experimental music and space rock.

They had one of the most intelligent persons at the history of music:Syd Barret..Shine on you crazy diamond...

They also gave the first audiovisual lives with great improvisation..

One of the first groups that made concept albums.Pretty Things,Genesis and Jethro Tull are also some early groups that did the same

!1#-Dark side of the Moon.-#1!

Gilmore is a hugly under-rated guitar player. Few can match his tone or sense of melody.

Rosafarbene floyd Richtlinien!

Dark side of the moon of course, this work not only shows they psico part, it is the most complex work in much ways, the music join to the 16 band channel and they space an future sound experiments, in my opinion it was the top of the creative work of the 4 guys. once they got far from the heavy shadow of Barrett, I this disc like they master piece.

dark side of the moon of course!! i guess there is no accounting for taste, to each his own!! i like pretty much everything they ever did until the very end when roger left. after that it just isnt true floyd any more. gilmour is one of the greatest melodic phrasing guitarists ever, he showed that you can say much more with a melodic phrase than you can with frantic riffs!!

As i see it Dark Side is taking a small advantage with four votes..Piper,Saucerfull and Wall have two.Fair enough,Dark side reached huge sales and caught the pulse of that time.It was also the album that made them a well known band with large audience because before they were mostly an ''underground'' group. But i don't know if this is good..Waters didn't like it either!

Anyway i prefer their most psychedelic, experimental and underground period, but we all have something in common at this forum:We love that group!!!!

I have to throw another classic Floyd album into the ring. Probably just about my favourite is "Wish you were here" pretty much tied with "The Wall" and a tiny smidge back would come the more obvious "Dark side of the moon". If someone said to me chill out in the dark and put a C.D. on loud with no interruptions the very first thing I am going to choose by a mile is ""Wish you were here".

I think "Wish you were here" just about beats "Dark side of the moon", but not by much and followed by "The Wall". One of the great things I love about Pink Floyd is that they still sound so fresh. If you got someone who had never heard them before to listen to them they would'nt have a clue when it was made. I also really like "Dub side of the moon" which is a regaee cover of the album "Dark side of the moon". David Gilmour is a great guitarist and I like alot of his solo work as well.

"I've got some bad news for you sunshine..." "Remember a day before today, a day when you were young" and "Let there be more light" in this...

No doubt, the greatest musical master piece since the Beetoven's "9th  simphony" and Stravinsky's "L'Oiseau de feu" is, Dark side of the moon kicks the ass, this work not only sent them to the success, it sent them to the eternity, far far far, far away follows it Saucerfull of Secrets and third comes The wall.

"And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon".

Too great a band to pick a best for me. The 1st best back to back would be MEDDLE how ever!

Who here knows of any hidden meanings or inserts?

Darkside of the moon *The great gig in the sky* 3/4s way through volume up as high as possible and the woman says * if you can hear this whisper you are dying*..

Echoes from side 2 of Meddle would be my favorite. It brings back pleasant memories from my more wasted youth.

I also like Wish You Were Here. After Syd died, I played it several times and almost cried.

I went to the local 'flicks' to see 'The Wall'

What an eye opener!  I sat there with my jaw on the floor and didn't look away once...  Fantastic piece of work.

Definately a moment in my life Smile

Can you remember seeing the film for the first time?  What did you think?

Yes i was ready to put on the table Meddle and Atom Heart Mother, two more great albums, but Knatted cought me up with Meddle.Echoes is just an excellent piece of Floyd's work.I also have to mention Ummagumma,a ''difficult'' double lp.At studio album see each member take part with a synthesis.I like Sysyphus of Wright-very spooky- and Narrow Way of Gilmour.Water's song is the biggest title of song ever  ("Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Grooving With A Pict")!!!!The live album is a small taste about Pink Floyd live performances......

Syd was a genius...

His vision was the blueprint for Floyd's whole sound!

My favorite (aside from Dark Side...) is Meddle.  Echoes is amazing!

I'm also a fan of Atom Heart Mother.
