Okay, as everyone know's a human has 8 pinte's of blood. And well man said if your a runner and you drain 2 pinte's away you will of coures be left with just 6, and you store that away and over some time your body will restore that blood so you will be back up to your normal 8 pinte's, then the blood you took out put back in then you would have 10 pinte's of blood instead of 8. In Which to give you more oxygen which means you can run for longer and faster.

But would this really work, would your body be physically capable of holding 2 pinte's more than it's really ment too ?

I dont think so. Your heart is what grows stronger so u can get more oxygen to your muscles. In turn when u run more then it pumps more oxygen with less beats. Which equals u get tired less and more oxygen gets to your muscles. So I dont think that it would store more blood to get oxygen to your muscles....Unless someone could prove me wrong....

That process is called blood doping or blood loading.

I don't think it would help much in chess anyway.

It would help a little, but in 3000 metre's it would have a great affect. but I wouldn't use it because it would be cheating on the other sportsmen.

Rather than infuse back the 2 pints of whole blood (which would increase blood volume, increase blood pressure, put a strain on the heart etc) the technique involves just infusing the red cells (the ones that carry the oxygen) but into the person.  It has the same effect as altitude training or using erythropoeitin i.e. it increases the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood.
