    Anyone got any stories ?

A friend of mine told me how some some sort of spirit had assaulted him in bed. Pressing down on him on the bed -several times. He reckoned it was to do with some family members messing around with a weegie board. The last time he had an encounter the "spirit" materialised as an old fella and my mate told him to "Feck Off" and wasn't troubled again...

Another friend of mine with a German surname described how he saw an apparition of a German soldier in a cemetary in Ireland where some Germans were buried....

I may have had an encounter myself. When I was in bed I thought for a split second one night when I woke up there was an elderly lady that I didn't recognise leaning over me....

    ..................

This is the most fascinating story in the public domain:

The Roman Legions in the York cellar. I saw a video on this last night - hence the current interest.

I guess the stories about ghosts are just silly...I think that (don't get mad on me for my opinion) people that see ghosts are equal to people that hear voices and tell them what to do -> psychotic. Extreme emotions and fear can make your brain change the perception about reality/logic and then you see/hear ghosts (your brain shows you what you do not want to see).

Please take my post not as a offence to you or your friend.

This is only a opinion i have about ghosts.

No, I'm not mad, in fact I'm glad I got a response on something I think interesting and have been surprised more haven't responded to :-)

I think the ghost phenomena is in part the recipients brain being in a particular mode of operation..

My own experience was instantaneous and for a split second....I actually believe there may be several types of ghost...."conscious" ones and "replay" ones...

yes.. I like to watch horror ghost movies for instance because they start the fear in you and then you start to ask questions: what if they exist? And also I think UFO's are, not brain, but human hand made :))

UFO's  (flying saucers) definitely exist but are not alien. The ET thing is disinformation to take away overall credibility of sightings. The Roswell incident was the same year as the CIA was created I believe (1947)

if aliens would exist i think we could not undestand them with our senses. the futuristic "Alien" movie reality with brutal intelligent animas travelling in the universe to kill us is just to exploit our fears...
