I really don't like the amount of vacation time we get. Because I've had 3 games that have been stopped for long periods of time because of vacation and 2 that are still on vacation. 2 games have been paused for over 1 month. I just think we have too much vacation time, I mean who's going to be away from a computer for a month. Just get real it's rediculous.
I personally have not encountered this problem yet, nor have I found the need to take a vacation yet, however I think having a vacation is a good thing since some of us play several games at one time, and have jobs and kids, and wives and dogs and...if you get my point, Some times I find it hard to make my move in time, and other times I find I just need an evening to relax. It is unfortunate tha there will always be those who abuse the system, but we must go on, Checkmayte!I really don't like the amount of vacation time we get. i think that the vacation that we have now is fine. i needed a few weeks this last semester after a fire in my apartment building--i had a lot more on my mind than chess. that didnt mean that i wanted to forfeit my games though. i was thankful that i had plenty of vacation time so i could put the games on "pause". i dont think the point is that people --cant-- get to a computer, the point is that sometimes people have a lot more on their mind, or just dont want to think about chess while they are away for a week, or even just want to take a vacation from chess. as much as i love this site, i wouldnt want it to be my job (bless the great people that have this site as their job so i dont have to), and i wouldnt want my games to become job-like either. there are always open seeks for new games, so whenever one of my opponents goes on vacation, i just look for a new game to pass the time. good things come to those who wait, and patience is a virtue, after all.
