In the home page it says"PLAY CHESS FOR FREE"

You do as basic members get live chat in language rooms and main hall.
Ads are removeable by upgrading :)
Main hall chat is there for all who have been in live chess longer than 48 hours and played more than 10 games
If you mean admin in the Indian room, that will be changing soon :)
You can play chess for free. You're not limited at all on how many games you can play in live chess or in turn based.

I'm quite content with the level of access and play available to Free members.

Why are you saying Indian room? She is a Sri Lankan.
You do not want to pay anything and want to enjoy all the features?
Because i've seen avishka in the Indian room several times chatting
Shouldn't there be any restrictions on who can enter which rooms?
why ? Many of our members are multi - lingual
Then what is the difference between mainhall chat and private rooms? Anbody can join.
They aren't private rooms.
Language rooms are there for those who wish to speak with others in the same language. People don't have to be from a specific country in order to speak in that room.
So you said Indian room, there is no language called Indian.

Me too. If I could afford to buy a membership, I would, but I have no problem with what's available to free members. Some people want the whole enchilada for free, I guess.
Skwerly
lol guy says it's rude his free membership isn't as good as a paid one... gotta love the internet.
ploboo
Dude, chill out, she never claimed there is a language called Indian. I imagine there are many of the Ianguages from India spoken there.
Maybe we need a special room for some people?
I mean that there should be some restrictions on who can join a room. Else, what is the difference between it and the main chat?

I started out as a free member. Then I saw the cost of this site ! A Diamond is the highest level of membership and has the most features.
A diamond membership is about 27 cents a day! or just a few dollars a week. That's an incredible bargain for the features this site offers. Its less than a soda at the store!
If you prefer you could invite people to join the site and get referral credit towards the membership cost. I cant think of a better bargain anywhere. You seem to like the site so why not join.
With all respect. The owners of this site have to pay the bills and your 27 cents a day would really help :)

Is this a serious post?
As soon as I get my horrific internet connectivity issues sorted i'm getting a diamond membership! The staff members are working their backsides off to maintain a superb chess site. There are enough content and functionality that you get for free on a basic membership.
And regarding your status that reads: "Why is this site getting worse every day"? If you are so negative about the site, quite whining and leave, or even better, get a holiday job, start experiencing the real world and pay for membership like the rest of us do, instead of asking your parents to pay your way through life.

I've been a free member all summer, and I finally decided to become a premium member because I'm here all the time and the site really couldn't be better. Kudos to the designers. If you are a frequent user, don't be stingy!

I got a free DIAMOND for a week.
I miss the ads, where are they now.
