Instead of war and force, governments, political groups, ethnical groups, religious groups, etc.,when they don't agree speaking, should solve their differences with sport events, and the UN could settle which sports.

It's interesting that this post appeared when it did.  I was thinking something very similar just the other day.  It's a very nice thought.  If only it could be a reality.

They, then, will probably kill one to another in sport events.

Thanks for your opinion, but it is pesimistic. I think, first we have to ask ourselves, What is the world ?, what is the purpose of life?, is it any purpose?, think apart of religions.

Yes, that's what I did: I asked myself what the World is? There is a purpose of life?... and, even more, I asked myself, Why governments, political, religious groups use war and force when they don't agree speaking? And I got the opinion (the pesimistic one) that they will try to kill one to another anyway. Precissely because they are governments, political, religious groups. They make just the opposite they say they are for.

I know that we don't like pesimistic opinions... but the only way to understand the reality is look at it directly. It's not necessary winds to build a dream... it's necessary hands, legs, arms, and understand the reality. No matter if it like us or not.

This is an interesting post. Thanks.

Although it is difficult, let's try to keep this out of politics and religion, cause those are rules in this wonderful website.

I know your point of view is very realistic, but remember what our great thinker Jose Martí use to think about social systems and world in general, he trusted in the goodness of men to reform laws in the future , instead of changing with destruction, to build a better world.

Let's remember one part of the lyrics of that great Lennon's song Imagine:

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

I got the feeling you think that negative emotional problems of people come from bad thinking, but also we can figure out that cosmic problems are at the origin of our mental program or what conditioned our parents to act in some way. That's why I fight to develop some compassion for people, rather than acting in a dual world (like Fischer did) : bad-good, good chess players or woodpushers, etc. I got compassion for the mental hell of the champion : when you got a genius from bad socioeconomocial context, paranoïd symptoms will probably appear. I struggle to not become a broken machine. Otherwise, no evolution. "pathetic endgame" is dedicated to Bobby. Have a good night. 1 AM my time.

Well; that would be better than in a real war, at least lives were saved in that hypothetical case. Anyway the stronger wins. But in this hypothetical case, another sport could have been selected too, with more even options.

Same as real life. You want justice as I want. But anyway, that would be when justice can not be applied, when opponents can not reach an agreement even with reasonable mediators, when they would decide to go to war.
