batgirl I am jealous of you  because I live here in Central New York state; I could tell you stories.  What I really dislike about the snow is driving in it; more stories.

one of my favorite stories is what became famous in New York as the Easter blizzard of 1970.  I went to a basketball game that day and I couldn't believe what I saw when I came out; it looked like Christmas, not Easter.  countless stories of 3 hour car journies that became six hours due to poor visibility on the roads.  in my youth waiting to see if schools would be closed.  driving off roads into ditches in storms (I did that twice).  spending a night with a rather large group of friends at a friends house because all of us were stranded.  on and on it goes.  up here winters are long; I'm enjoying fall while I can.

I like winter, and I personally hope we get a lot of snow this year.  Last year was really messed up.  It snowed on Halloween, again on Thanksgiving, and then it actually started staying on January 14 (my b-day). :D  It was cold, too.  I like winter for the snow, and I can stand the cold if there's snow, but I hate it if it's cold and there's no snow.  Lucky Canadians.  :P  lol

I hate the hot weather. If your cold, you can wrap up, but if your hot you just have to bear it. And as for whinging about car journeys, try walking, its good for you and might warm you up.

my favorite time of the year is spring(birds chirping, new growth,a little warmer but not hot, rebirth of trees AND plants etc.). unfortunately it is also allergy season. oh well, you have to take the good with the bad i guess. also in winter there is nothing like being inside and seeing the snow falling-very picturesque-the key word being "inside"! driving in winter in new england is always an adventure(the nuts on the road are bad enough without adding snow to the mix).

Exact! I've been trying to make this point for sometime yet many prefer the hot sticky summer weather which drives me into the dark dinngy but cool basement like a troll.

As for driving,,,emm,, I'm 15mins by car from anything so I'll stand by my origional post as nothing stinks more than doing a 360 and ending up ass backwards and half buried in a ditch fully knowing the snow plough will not be around for a couple of hours or worse..

I love Winter for big fluffy sweaters, warm soft socks and reading books by the roaring fire.

I love Spring for Daffodills, bluebells, and crocus. newly turned earth. Walking on the beach,  in the sunshine, wrapped up against the cool spring breeze.

I Love Summer for the warmth, I love being hot, Love it. I love sitting on the cliffs watching fantastic Sunsets, after a hot day. I love the sun when it comes up in the moring, and pockets of mist in the vales. picking Summer fruits, eating them along the way.

I love Autum for the woods becoming magical places with, leaves turning all hues of golds, reds, and browns, conkers falling from the trees and children collecting them to play conkers.  Chestnuts roasting on the fire. Nights drawing in earlier.

With all the crazy weather lately, you can probably look forward to the Independence Day Blizzard of 2012.
