Did chess.com change maximum lessons for platinum?

You write that you are upset that chess.com has limited the number of Chess Mentor lessons to only 5.  You also wrote that you felt that this was a "slap in the face".

Nobody slapped you. According to the Wayback Machine, the membership description page has not changed since August 25, 2013.  At that time, as now,  platinum members get just 5 Mentor lessons per day:

Intriguingly, before that, they got none. That's right, only diamond members got more than the sample Chess Mentor lessons.

Since you yourself joined chess.com in August 2013, you were one of the first beneficiaries of this policy change, offering you 5 Chess Mentor lessons each and every day as part of the Platinum membership package.
