I just got a message on Tactics Trainer that reads "There are no more problems available at this time."  & I can't do any more problems! Surprised

Will there be more tactics problems available to me in the future?

Or is that Chess.com's way of telling me to spend less time on the Tactics Trainer? Undecided

Has anyone else received this message?

My Tactics Trainer Stats

Heh, I was hoping the supply would continue to be increased so that I'll never run into that problem.  What a disaster that would be! :D

Looks like you played over every Tactics Trainer problem.  You have attempted it 9,197 times and on the 9,175 problem, but the database says there are only 8,863 problems.  Your rating is 1460 with a 36% success rate.  I think it you have seen every problem, it should start all over again for you.  You should then have a better rating and a greater success rate.  chess.com may need to add some more tactics problems or randomly select the ones you already played, perhaps the failed ones.

New problems are being added all the time. Whether they can be added faster than you can solve them is another matter... :)

The reason you seem to have attempted more problems than exist, by the way, is probably because some problems are found to be faulty after they're added, and so get deleted. If you've attempted them before that happens, then they'll show up in your count of attempted problems, but not in the count of current problems.

What if one wants to repeat the same problems? We only get one shot at each problem? I do not like that.

You can do the same problems over again, you just can't do them more than once rated.

Wow, I had thought problems would be repeatable in rated mode.

Will it track which problems one has completed in unrated mode?

It wouldn't be fair to repeat problems in rated mode, or somebody could just do the same problem over and over, getting the max rating.

onehandgann - I'm not sure if it keeps track of the ones you do in unrated mode.

I really do not care about my rating there. I want to do the same problems over again to improve my tactical ability and doing the same problems over again helps that but I need them tracked.  I guess it would be nice if they could give a private unrated rating(if that makes sense)  with untimed problems and keep everything tracked   like CT Art.  I use it for my invidual development not to compare myself in a test to others. I really like the program and I have a long way to go before completing all those problems but I really wished it was geared to individual development and training and not just to solving quickly and comparing ones rating to others. So hopefully I can also use it in unrated mode and have everything tracked? Anybody know if it does that?

At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to pick a fight, this isn't true. The user doesn't get to pick which problem they will try next. So you won't see the same problem again until after you've potentially attempted hundreds of other problems.

Exactly and it would be a fair playing field for those that actually put some status on their rating there as all would have a chance to repeat the same problems(probably months or years later!) so why not after you finish all the problems have it start for you again like you have done nothing. Hell as far as I am concerned it could even erase my old rating and put me back at starting level and each time I finish it(whever that is) so I could see how much I  improved the second time around by comparing my ending rating the second time to my ending rating the first time.

I have definitely seen the same problem more than once. It is VERY frustrating when I can't get it the second time around either, but more often than not I remember the key move or two, so I get it right, and super-quick.
