I think it's great too!  It would be neat if you could pick from a list of standard opening positions, choose a difficulty level, and play against the computer with the same feedback about score and being able to take back a move or ask the computer for the best move.  Kind of like playing Chessmaster with mentoring options turned on...

It's really helpful since it improves all phases of the game.
