On October 1st my Tactics Trainer rating was 2295, and now it is down to
1794, a drop of 501 points!
Has anyone else noticed this since Jay adjusted the rating system?

[COMMENT DELETED, nevermind - I misread my chart, but no, mine didn't shift. Thanks for asking!]

and now its 1800-1950

Yes mine is down.   I was bumping 2400 on the high end before Oct 1st, and now its down between 1750 and 1850.   (not sure why but I've always done better on the higher rated puzzles than the lower ones)  Anyhow, The way the ratings are set up now, you loose more points when you miss a puzzle than you receive when you get a puzzle right.  So it drops much quicker than it climbs if you miss a few in a row.   I find it annoying when I get a run of 3 or 4 correct, only to loose it all when I miss one or two in a row, but in reality its probably much closer to my actual rating.   Either way, its still a good work out.

I'm glad that this wasn't something specific to me - I also was rated around 2400-2500 but now I'm more like 2200-2300.

I think I was overrated so I'm glad to be back where I need to be :-).

If I recall correctly, the average rating in tactics trainer used to be around 1300, but now the average is 1244.  I could just have a inaccurate memory, but I think those are accurate recollections.

If somebody knows for sure what the average rating used to be prior to the change then that would give a clearer representation of the true global effect.

Anybody know for sure what the average was?

It does seem odd that when you miss on the first move you get lose about twice what you get when you win on multiple moves.  and if you miss after the first move it has little effect.
